Embry-Riddle used strong pitching and timely hitting as the Eagles swept Park Gilbert on Friday 8-1 in the first game and 4-1 in the second game at Eagle Baseball Field.
Game 1
Right-hander Noah Tschopp delivered his best outing of the year, carving through the Buccaneers’ lineup with six innings of one-hit, scoreless baseball while striking out five and walking just one. The document notes that he allowed only one hit across 19 at-bats and faced just 21 batters in six innings .
His efficiency kept the Eagles in control even as the offense went quiet after an early run.
Embry-Riddle struck first in the opening frame. After Miles Murphy singled and stole second, Fernando Perez-Ortega delivered an RBI single to right, scoring Murphy for a 1–0 lead.
The Eagles’ offense erupted in the eighth, turning a 1–0 nail-biter into a commanding victory.
The inning began with a Perez-Ortega single and a James Warren double, putting two runners in scoring position. After an intentional walk to load the bases, Connor Rosinski ripped a two-run double to left, extending the lead to 3–0.
From there, the floodgates opened:
- Konner Nelson delivered the biggest swing of the day — a three-run double to left, pushing the lead to 6–0.
- Miles Murphy followed with an RBI double of his own, making it 7–0.
- A bases-loaded hit-by-pitch to James Warren capped the seven-run outburst.
In total, Embry-Riddle tallied five hits and seven runs in the inning.
